New Zealand Screen Production Rebate

The New Zealand Government supports the film industry with globally competitive incentives.

New Zealand Screen Production Rebate (NZSPR)

The New Zealand Screen Production Rebate, originally named the New Zealand Screen Production Grant, is a Government-backed screen incentives scheme, first introduced on 1 April 2014. 

The rebate is administered by the New Zealand Film Commission.

International Productions - Eligible productions can access a 20% cash rebate on Qualifying New Zealand Production Expenditure, with a 5% Uplift available for productions that can demonstrate significant economic benefits to New Zealand. A Post, Digital and Visual Effects (PDV) Rebate is also available. 

New Zealand Productions - Eligible productions can access a 40% cash rebate on Qualifying New Zealand Production Expenditure.
