Sustainable Filming

Film Otago Southland cares about supporting productions in reducing their environmental footprint.

We're in the process of building a Sustainable Filming Directory, which you'll be able to browse on our website shortly. In the meantime, please get in touch directly to chat about sustainable filming resources and information, or check out some of the links below.

The Queenstown Lakes District has a local directory - ...And Cut! - that helps productions manage and minimise their waste when filming in the district. The Directory offers a quick reference to a variety of local businesses and waste-related organisations that provide sustainable waste solutions and services.

Please get in touch to see how else can help connect you with local contacts and resources to help with your sustainable filming efforts.

There is also a national organisation, Greenlit, which supports the wider screen sector in Aotearoa New Zealand with environmentally sustainable production practice. Visit the website for sustainability resources, tools and more: Greenlit.
